We recently completed a heat pump installation in Reepham for a 3-bedroom detached property, upgrading an outdated oil heating system to a modern, energy-efficient solution.

The Property

This project involved an older detached home in Reepham with solid walls and an ageing oil boiler that was no longer effectively heating the property.
The homeowners had seen the benefits of a heat pump installation at a friend’s property and were keen to explore a similar solution for their own home.

Due to the construction of the building, particularly the solid walls, careful planning and system design were essential to ensure consistent heating throughout.

The Solution

We installed a NIBE 16kW air source heat pump, specifically sized to meet the demands of this more challenging property.

To ensure optimal performance, we upgraded the heating system with:

• Smiths Eco Power radiators downstairs
• Oversized Stelrad radiators upstairs
• A fully designed system tailored to the property’s heat requirements

We also worked alongside solar PV installers to integrate renewable energy into the system, helping to further improve efficiency and reduce running costs.

By carefully selecting the right components and designing the system around the property, we were able to deliver reliable heating even in a solid wall home.
